Virginia Interfaith Center is Virginia’s oldest faith-based advocacy organization, founded in 1982. We bring together people of faith and goodwill to advocate for policies that advance justice, equity, and dignity for all Virginians.
We educate communities about critical social issues, equip people of faith with tools for advocacy, and mobilize grassroots networks to take action on policies affecting low-income, vulnerable, and underrepresented communities.
No. Virginia Interfaith Center welcomes people of all faiths—and people of goodwill with no faith affiliation—who share our values of justice, compassion, and equity.
Our priorities include economic justice, health equity, affordable housing, criminal justice reform, and civic engagement. These priorities shift as new challenges emerge, always rooted in our mission and values.
We partner with congregations through our Congregational Partnership Program, providing resources, training, and support for both advocacy and mercy ministries. Each congregation designates a liaison to connect members with Virginia Interfaith Center’s work.
Anyone can be an advocate by learning about issues, taking action, and joining events. Membership involves a financial contribution that helps sustain our mission and connects you more deeply with our advocacy network.
There are many ways to join us:
- Become an advocate by signing up for our action alerts and newsletters.
- Volunteer your time at events or through local chapters.

- Support our work through donations.
