Despite being classified as essential workers during the COVID-19 pandemic, farmworkers in Virginia continue to be excluded from Virginia’s minimum wage. We know that these exclusions originated in the Jim Crow era and continue to discriminate against farmworkers in the Commonwealth, many of whom are from black and brown communities.

We must protect our neighbors and advocate an equitable minimum wage increase. Tell Governor Northam to sign the minimum wage bill AND remove the farmworker exemption!
