On the evening of November 13th, VICPP Board Member Hurunnessa Fariad taught a group of congregants at Adas Israel Congregation in Washington, D.C. an Afghan song. Invited by the synagogue’s music director, Micah Hendler, who accompanied her on the keyboard, she shared a slower and softer version of a song she grew up listening to with her family in Afghanistan.
