Podcast: On the Road for Justice – Reflections on the SWVA Interfaith Justice Revival

In this episode of Faith, Policy and Purpose, we take listeners and viewers on the road with us to Southwest Virginia, where the Virginia Interfaith Center for Public Policy (VICPP) recently hosted multiple Interfaith Justice Revivals. In partnership with the Virginia Poverty Law Center and the NAACP Virginia State Conference, they brought together people from diverse faith traditions in the shared pursuit of justice.

Hosted by Roberta Oster, VICPP’s communications director, this conversation features Amanda Kline Roberson, VICPP’s communications coordinator, and Sheila Herlihy Hennessee, VICPP’s director of faith organizing, both of whom traveled to SW Virginia for the revivals. They reflect on what it meant to gather people across faith traditions to explore how each faith understands and pursues justice, and share stories from their conversations with residents about the everyday struggles their communities face. This episode offers a window into what interfaith organizing looks like on the ground, and why showing up in community, tradition by tradition, matters.
