Richmond, Virginia – The Virginia Interfaith Center for Public Policy (VICPP) is partnering with Ekoji Buddhist Sangha of Richmond, and Williamsburg Buddhist Sangha to invite dharma practitioners from across the Commonwealth (Buddhists, Hindus, and others) for a day of connection, reflection, and public presence.
This gathering also marks the start of a growing partnership, called the Virginia Dharma Alliance, that’s between VICPP and dharmic communities in Richmond, Williamsburg, and throughout the Commonwealth. Attendees will have lunch and then take a silent, meditative walk down to the lawn near the Virginia General Assembly building. This walk is not a protest, but a peaceful expression of the shared values of VICPP and the dharmic community.
This event, held on November 1st at 10:30am, is the first of many with the Virginia Dharma Alliance to inspire future action around interfaith organizing and statewide advocacy. Community interest in this pilot program has been overwhelming and registration for the event has reached capacity. Members of the press interested in covering the event can contact VICPP directly for location details.
