Our annual Day for All People will be held Wednesday, Jan. 25, where you can join people from around the Commonwealth for a day of advocacy at the General Assembly. As a special “cherry on top” bonus, we will hear from two of the top officials in Virginia state government: Lt. Gov. Ralph Northam and Attorney General Mark Herring.
Northam, who is also an announced candidate for governor this year, will speak at 9:30 a.m. during the morning “warm-up” session. Then the Attorney General Herring will speak during lunch at noon.
The Virginia Interfaith Center for Public Policy annually sponsors this opportunity for people to meet with their legislators during the General Assembly session. Tickets are $30 for the day-long advocacy event; $15 for students. Breakfast and Lunch will be provided. There will be informative speakers on key legislative issues before the General Assembly, and opportunities to meet with your legislators. We will also gather our participating college and seminary students in a special time for discussion (sign up here: https://www.facebook.
Our generous host will be Centenary United Methodist Church, located at 411 East Grace St., in downtown Richmond, a short walk from Capitol Square. Please join us for what should be an exciting day of public advocacy.
