Friends, the Virginia Interfaith Center for Public Policy (VICPP) is issuing a CALL TO FORMATION AND ACTION. A formation meeting is set for Monday, June 19, at 7 p.m. We are pleased to be hosted at the United Jewish Community Center, 401 City Center Blvd., Newport News, VA 23606.

As a follow up to an earlier informational meeting at Corey’s Country Kitchen in Williamsburg, a Planning Team has met 6 times, resulting in the commitment to create a chapter under the name of James River Chapter. We firmly believe that there is a need for a strong faith community voice for education and advocacy on issues of common need.

Our agenda for this called chapter meeting is to underscore the reason for a multi-faith chapter. First, we have asked leaders of faith communities to articulate the core values that compel us to work for the dignity and worth of all persons. Second, we will give you an opportunity to determine where your energy and excitement leads you to participate. Third, we will look forward to education and action opportunities in the fall that can empower effective action.

We will be gathering at 6:45 and begin the program at 7 p.m. Please encourage a diversity of friends and colleagues to attend.

Shalom, Salaam, and peace to all,
