All children should have access to healthcare, which requires access to insurance. In Virginia, families that meet the income qualifications for Medicaid but don’t have documentation status are excluded from the program. That means that children without immigrant documentation are left out in the cold and not able to receive medical care. We are working with the Healthcare for All Virginians (HAV) Coalition on a bill to Cover All Kids. This would allow children without documentation to be eligible for Medicaid if their families are income-qualified. Find out more on THIS PAGE from our friends at The Commonwealth Institute.
