People Not Prisons:

Fairfax Commonwealth’s Attorney Candidate Forum on Criminal Justice

Monday, June 3, 2019, 7 p.m.

Meet the Fairfax, VA Democratic candidates for Commonwealth’s Attorney and find out where they stand on key criminal justice issues. Join us at a community forum on June 3, at 7 p.m. at the First Baptist Church of Vienna where you can question the incumbent, Raymond F. Morrogh, and his challenger, Steve T. Descano.
This is an opportunity to ask the candidates what they will do to reduce mass incarceration, reduce racial disparities, and de-criminalize poverty. The event is co-sponsored by the Virginia Interfaith Center for Public Policy, the League of Women Voters of the Fairfax Area, the ACLU of Virginia, and the Fairfax County NAACP.

Ben Hoyne, Policy Director for Virginia Interfaith Center said, “Commonwealth’s Attorneys play a significant role in shaping the criminal justice system in Fairfax and across Virginia. We’re thrilled that these organizations have come together to provide such a critical forum before the primary on June 11.”
Both candidates will appear on the ballot on June 11th, running for the Democratic Party’s nomination for Commonwealth’s Attorney of Fairfax County and Fairfax City.

Date:  Monday, June 3, 7 p.m.

Location:  First Baptist Church of Vienna
450 Orchard St., NW
Vienna, VA  22180

The event is free and open to the public.
